A SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICATION AREA
Filtration is a very important, but unfortunately often neglected tool for the effective maintenance of the Hydraulic systems on Plastic Injection Moulding Machines.
In the Injection Moulding industry there in general only one oil system. This is the hydraulic system operating the opening and closing process.
Notice that you can see some electrical machines on the market obviously without a hydraulic oil system. However, they have often an extreemly expensive gearbox operating and it is just as important to keep this oil clean to lower the number of unexpected breakdowns.
THE TYPICAL PROBLEMS CONCERNING THIS APPLICATION AREA
The main problems in this type of hydraulic oil systems are oxidation and particle generation. The oxidation process of the oil is caused by too hot oil in the machines which will break down the additives in the oil.
Furhermore, we see a lot of particles in this type of systems due to the fact the machines often runes at high load arround the clock.
The particles in the hydraulic system can be “build in” when the machines has not been flushed properly before leaving the work shop. Furthermore starting op a plastic machine creates wear particles, which if they are not efficiently removed will start an acceleration in the generation of more and more damaging particles.
