The CJC Activated Carbon Gas Filter is used for removing contaminants in landfill gas. The filter will capture contaminants that are harmfull in a later combustion stage in a gas engine.
The gas filter shown to the right is 9m3 in volume (4.5tonnes capacity for activated carbon). They are designed to take between 2500m3 and 4500m3 gas (NTP) per hour for optimum performance.
CJC Gas filters save money, increase productivity and profitability by lowering operational running costs. This is achieved by reducing engine oil (and filter) costs, replacing fewer spark plugs, cylinder heads etc. which will secure longer service and overhaul intervals.
Installing a CJC Gas Filter will lower engine exhaust emissions (achieved as engines will burn cleaner on filtered gas).
Cleaner biogas means longer engine life.
Biogas contains high levels of contaminants e.g., siloxanes, organic compounds, water, H2S, particulate, which, if allowed to reach the engine, will cause irreversible damage to both the engine components and engine oil, resulting in:
High TAN values
Low TBN values
Engine detonation due to high water content in gas
High incidence of erosion/abrasion through SiO2 in engine
Damage to cylinder heads, liners and piston rings
CJC Biogas Filter removes more than 90% of organic contaminants in biogas supply through successful capture and retention in CJC Gas Filter Medium.
